Poetry and music echo through Irish history and imagination. The landscape seems
to reflect these echoes with its stone walls and monastic sites and bogland. The bogs
occasionally reveal their hidden treasures, such as the Faddan More Psalter, found in our
Board Chair Gillian Kingston’s neighbour’s bog in 2006. (Read more about the Faddan
More Psalter here)

At Bible Society Ireland we have a proud legacy of preserving the Bible in Irish, and part
of this is legacy is connected to the ancient rhythms of Celtic Christianity. Every year we
host the Bedell Boyle Lecture, named in-part after Bishop William Bedell who was the
first person to publish the whole Bible translated into Irish in 1685. If you would be
interested in attending this annual lecture, or attending workshops on Bible translation,
inviting us to facilitate a Scripture retreat with harp or even embarking on a Monastic
Rhythms Heritage tour, please fill in the form below and get in touch.
